Garrett Mason is an acclaimed Canadian blues guitarist and singer-songwriter from Truro, Nova Scotia, known for his gritty tone, dynamic live performances, and deep connection to blues tradition. As the son of Nova Scotia blues legend Dutch Mason — often called The Prime Minister of the Blues — Garrett was surrounded by music from an early age and developed a passion for the blues that would shape his artistic voice.
Over a career spanning more than two decades, Garrett has built a reputation as one of Canada’s most respected blues musicians. His debut album I’m Just a Man won the Juno Award for Best Blues Album in 2005, and his sophomore release Love and Sound earned both critical praise and a Music Nova Scotia Award. His music blends traditional blues roots with elements of rock and soul, delivered with expressive guitar work and commanding stage presence.
Garrett’s talent has made him a standout figure on the Canadian blues scene, performing at venues and festivals across the country while carrying on the legacy of blues music that his father helped define.

Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Midtown Blues Band (also known as Bob Naugler & The Midtown Blues Band), featuring the musical talents of Bob Naugler, Rus Winham, Mark Mitchell and Jeff Pearson is rooted in tradition yet driven by energy. The band blends East Coast and Canadian blues with Chicago and Delta influences, all filtered through a rock-and-roll edge.
A mainstay of the Halifax live music scene, the band has appeared at venues such as Jenny’s Place Pub and Capital Sports Bar, and at festivals across Nova Scotia, including Pembroke Blues Festival, BainFest, Smokin’ Blues Fest, and the New Ross 200th Anniversary Celebration.
Their debut album, The Midtown Man, was produced by award-winning producer, Paul Milner, and recorded at Shell Lane Music Group (Malpeque, PEI)/A Major Sound, and published by Many Lives Music Publishers, released in 2014, and is available on various platforms.
